Greetings Adventurers ⚔️, we're excited to give you an update on our progress! Here’s what we’re working on:
Vertical Slice
TL:DR: Our Vertical Slice build with essential gameplay, includes exploration, PvP, PvE, and social aspects.
The way we're approaching development for Primorden is through creating something called a Vertical Slice, which is a build that features all the essential gameplay elements and a small section of content. As developers, this helps us test and observe the core loop of our game for “fun”.
- The Vertical Slice will feature several Classes we can test on a small selection of monster types, each with droppable loot and resources. 
- Gameplay will take place in a “beautiful corner” of our full open-world map, including areas like safe zones and full-loot PvPvE zones. 
- We’ll be using these to determine how players will interact with the environment, enemies, and each other. 
Art 🎨
- Completed multiple Origin artworks, some of which are critical to Primorden’s foundational lore. We may be revealing some of these soon! 
- Developing foundational concept art for the “Solania” region to upgrade our old art and make the world more cohesive and immersive. 
- Established a new art pipeline to maximize artists’ skills and produce content faster. 
Development 🖥️
- Developed persistence and chat using our custom lightweight and scalable backend system. - . 
- Created a predictive AI targeting system for monsters for more challenging monster encounters. 
- Added 2 Boss encounters to the Vertical Slice and potentially fitting in a 3rd class. 
- Developed custom building and design tools, which allow for more effective game design and level building. 
Design ✒️
- Continuing Primorden lore building, specifically in the Solania region, including races, culture, clothing, religions, and more! 
- Built out more areas of our Vertical Slice to expand the amount of exploration players will be able to do. 
- Continued UI work with a core goal of readability and immersion. 
- Brought in an ex-League of Legends game designer and ex-Assassin's Creed level designer as advisors to help our team level up output. 
Music 🎵
- Finished multiple theme songs for our OST and will be releasing an early version of one of our tracks soon 👀
